Chassis Transfer Cart

Chassis Transfer Carts are specifically designed for the safe and efficient transport of heavy vehicle chassis in the automotive industry, including cars, buses, and trucks. Built for production line use, these carts are available in battery-powered free-travelling or rail-guided configurations, allowing secure handling of chassis of varying sizes and weights. They can operate synchronously, making them ideal for transporting long or multiple chassis at the same time, reducing changeover times and lowering operational costs. With a robust, ergonomic design and high safety standards, Chassis Transfer Carts ensure maximum efficiency, uninterrupted workflow, and a reliable solution for heavy automotive chassis transport in demanding manufacturing environments.

Mods and Security

  • With rails: Provides linear movement back and forth on rails. With its high stability and precise positioning capability, it is the ideal solution especially for fixed lines and repetitive transports.
  • Standard Manoeuvring: Simple, cost-effective; used in large areas, with large turning radius (vertical, front axle, on rear wheel, rear axle turning)
  • Versatile Manoeuvring: Highest manoeuvrability; all wheels rotate independently, suitable for narrow spaces and precise loading/unloading (vertical, lateral, diagonal, crab movement, rotation on its own axis)
  • ±90° Movement: Intermediate solution; front axle rotates ±90°, providing a small turning radius. Commonly used on Fada’s battery powered transfer trolleys, ideal for compact and budget-friendly applications.

Power Supply and Motor Types

The main factors affecting the performance of transfer cars are the energy source used and the type of engine. Basically, three different energy sources are used:

  • Battery (Lithium/Gel Battery, Wireless/Contactless Energy Transfer)
  • Diesel Fuel
  • Hybrid (combined systems)

Motor types and energy supply options:

  • Electric motors
  • Hydraulic motors
  • AC motors
  • PMAC motors
  • Motorised or spring cable drum / cable chain

These combinations allow the transfer trolleys to provide maximum performance and flexibility in different applications.

Control Options

Operator Controlled

  • Wired remote control
  • Remote control
  • Vehicle driver (in cab)

Versatile control options are determined by operating environment, route length, speed and shift times

Autonomous Control – Natural Navigation

Self-steering without operator intervention, calculating the most efficient route and speed profiles.

Autonomous Control – Magnetic Lane Tracking

Provides precise and safe movement along a predetermined path. Works integrated with magnetic sensors and magnetic strips on the road.
